Apple Stock News: Barclays analysts suggest Apple won’t release a new iPhone SE in 2024, indicating delays in their in-house 5G modem. Apple’s existing supplier, Qualcomm, may benefit. Mass production of Apple’s modem is expected to start in 2025 at the earliest. The next iPhone SE was rumored to have a similar design as the iPhone 14 with a larger OLED display and Face ID. It’s uncertain if Apple will eventually launch this device with a Qualcomm modem. The current iPhone SE, released in March 2022, features a 4.7-inch LCD display, Touch ID, 5G, A15 Bionic chip, and starts at $429.
Self-Service Repair Program
Apple has announced the expansion of its self-service repair program, including the iPhone 14 lineup, M2 chip-powered MacBook Air, and M2 Pro and M2 Max chip-equipped MacBook Pro models. The program, launched in April 2022, grants customers access to repair parts, manuals, and tools. Apple recommends visiting an Apple Store or Authorized Service Provider for most customers. The post-repair System Configuration process can now be completed by users themselves, eliminating the need for contacting support. The program is also extended to M1 series Mac desktops in select European countries and includes parts for iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 TrueDepth cameras and top speakers.
Apple’s Beats Studio Pro Headphones
The upcoming Beats Studio Pro headphones from Apple have appeared in FCC filings, indicating an imminent release. While Apple has not officially acknowledged the headphones, they were previously seen in the macOS Ventura 13.4 update. The Beats Studio Pro will be an updated version of the Beats Studio3 over-ear headphones. It is expected that the collaboration with Samuel Ross of A-Cold-Wall, who recently joined Beats, will result in minimal design changes. However, internal improvements are anticipated, such as an updated Apple-designed chip, enhanced Active Noise Cancellation, Transparency Mode, and “Hey Siri” support. The release of the Beats Studio Pro headphones is anticipated for later this summer, with FCC information typically preceding the launch by a few weeks to a month.
