Although Apple does not reveal their exact sales figures, we previously noted market research firm, Canalys, estimated that approximately 7 million units of the Apple Watch have been shipped, making it the most popular smart watch. We now believe that Apple Watch sales will continue to grow, especially during the holiday season.
A new research report from Daniel Ives an analyst from FBR Capital Markets explained, “Our Black Friday Apple-store checks revealed growing interest in Apple Watch sales heading into the holiday season.” Ives estimates that in December, Apple will sell between 5 and 6 million units.
Furthermore, after Black Friday, there is mounting evidence that the Apple Watch is a very desirable gift. In fact, Target, claimed that the Apple watch was among its top ten most popular items. Target also included Apple’s iPad and Beats products as top sellers this year.
Finally, according to IBM Watson Trend, an artificial intelligence tool that gathers big data on purchases by analyzing trends among various Internet forums, reviews, and comments, the Apple Watch is the number one most talked about gift. According to Google Trends, another big data analytics tool has the Apple Watch at number 2.
