The Chinese smartphone market continues to play by its own rules according to data released by the Hong Kong based research firm Counterpoint. While most smartphone markets are typically dominated by either Samsung or Apple, the Chinese market, while also being led by Samsung, is much more evenly distributed. Chinese manufacturers such as Lenovo, Xiaomi, and Coolpad are quickly gaining market share by selling their products at prices that international competition, Apple in particular, have trouble matching.
