What to Expect – Apple WWDC 2018

Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference kicks off on June 4, 2018 at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, Calif. The primary focus of the event is contenting pros, and decision makers for technical sessions and brainstorming over the direction of Apple’s software universe in the coming year.

In contrast to last year, Apple is expected to introduce new software, with some hardware announced. In addition, Apple is also expected to update operating systems for Mac computers, the Apple Watch and Apple TV.

What to Expect?

As of last year, Apple used the event as a launch pad not just for OS updates- macOS High Sierra, Apple iOS 11, but also for major hardware moves – MacBook Air, new iMacs.

This year Apple is expected to update its mobile iOS and computing-centric macOS operating systems. The software update for existing iPhones and iPads is expected to be called iOS12 while the next version of macOS is still under wraps. Naturally, you can expect stability and performance improvements with the new operating systems.

Apple’s Siri is expected to get smarter as Apple’s offering has fallen woefully behind competitors like Amazon’s Alexa and Google’s Assistant in recent years.

WWDC is a developer’s event, but that hasn’t stopped Apple from introducing new hardware products in the past. For this year’s event the chances that Apple will introduce new products are slim, but if they do, users should expect updated MacBook, improved Airpods and maybe a new Apple Watch.

OLED is a new display technology, used to create thin, power efficient and bright display. In the 2017 iPhone X, Apple started adopting OLEDs and it is expected to introduce new OLED modules in its 2018 WWDC. As OLEDs provide a better image quality, and are also thinner, lighter, flexible and more efficient than LCDs, it is only a matter of time until Apple will switch to OLEDs with all its iPhones and mobile device.

Investors’ expectations for new and improved software and hardware follow with an increase of 1.59% in AAPL stock in 3 days. Stock price jumped from $187.11 to $190.15 per share.

Following the above, APPL stock grows every year with WWDC announcements. With Apple’s new and improved software hardware expected this year AAPL stock is expected to continue growing in the long-term estimation, as long as it remains updated and innovative.

12 years have been passed since Apple’s transition to Intel processors. This Monday Aug., 21st, Intel presented us 8th Gen family of chips, which can be installed in 2018 MacBook and MacBook Pros refresh.

The four processors launched yesterday, are for use in notebooks and all-in-one desktop systems. They were developed with a thermal design power (TDP) of 15 Watts, which means low temperatures during work. New chips can keep the MacBook battery life up to 10 hours and they doubled processing power of processors released five years ago.

Two new Core i7 chips, and two new i5 chips show impressive 40% speed improvement, compared to last Gen. As Intel says, due to added two extra cores to them and manufacturing process improvements.

The new chips can handle 4K video, VR, 3D, and other recent innovations on a platform-wide level. The integrated HD 620 graphics built into the last generation of U Series processors is also getting rebranded to reflect that change in focus as UHD 620 graphics.

While it’s the “8th generation” processor family, these are not using the “Cannon Lake” architecture. In fact a refresh of “Kaby Lake”. The main aspect is that at the same price and power Intel will now be moving its product lines up to quad-cores with hyper threading. This gives a 100% gain in cores and 100% gain in threads.

Option of 32 gigabyte RAM is potentially possible in a future MacBook Pro. If Apple uses chips with a 10-nanometer architecture – “Cannon Lake”. Intel is thinking to be shipping the first of them at the start of 2018.

The most exciting update is the touch bar that will replace the keys on the very top of the MacBook Pro keyboard. It is a touch, retina display that adapts to every application being used and gives you new tools and apps. Apple also announced another 13-inch model with lower specs and doesn’t include the touch bar, it is a cheaper option for those customers that are looking to buy a MacBook Air but will get a better machine. This model starts at $1,499. As for the 13-inch with the touch bar, the price starts at $1,799 and the 15-inch starts at $2,399. The lowest model is available for shipping now and the touch bar models will ship between 2-3 weeks.

APPL Stock Decline

So why has APPL declined in sales? The news of the new laptop hasn’t been as exciting as projected because of the price-point. Many people don’t want to spend $1,499-$2,399 on a laptop when there are Microsoft models selling for more than half the price. However, Apple is not going anywhere and future projections show APPL will continue to be bullish primarily because of the iPhone.

Apple Stock News: Hello Again Macbook

Apple Stock News

For the latest Apple Stock News, AAPL closed at $117.12 on Wednesday, October 19th, with a 0.30% loss, or $0.35 from its previous close of $117.47 per share.

Apple’s stock has been rising in the past partly due to Samsung’s Note 7 recall.  As a result, many speculated a deterrence in Samsung’s customer loyalty.  However, a report revealed 80 to 90% of Samsung customers returning the Note 7, are more likely to seek another Samsung device as its replacement.

“Hello Again” is the tag line that is leading many to speculate.  Speculation leads to anticipation. And anticipation leads to excitement.  Apple is announcing the first look of new Mac computers at a press event on October 27, 2016.  What is Apple planning?  Moreover, how will the new Mac computers differ from its predecessors?

Apple Stock News

Besides releasing the ultra thin Macbook last year and reporting two quarters of sliding sales, perhaps now is the time for an overhaul of Apple’s Macbook product line.  Surprisingly, Macbooks are now outselling iPads. Steve Job speculated upon the iPad’s release in 2010 to be a “post-PC” device.  The new Macbooks are rumored to offer the following changes.  The Macbooks will be thinner and contain a more advanced graphics card from AMD.  In addition, the new Macbooks will have their USB ports and Magsafe power cord replaced with USB-C connectors and Thunderbolt connections.  Perhaps the most exciting feature expected is a touch sensitive OLED secondary display used to simply keyboard shortcuts.  With rumors of having a touchscreen strip, to introducing new features, one thing is for certain.  This will convince shoppers to hold off buying Macbooks until the announcement of the new line of computers.

AAPL Stock News: The New MacBook Will Leave The Last One 8 Years Behind

AAPL Stock News

Apple has managed to primeval their MacBook, Why is Apple doing this? From the point of view of the customers of Apple many are upset because of Apple’s way to so quickly give them the feeling that they bought 6 months ago a device they have to replace tomorrow and the price tag on each one of these devices is not cheap. They are taking this new MacBook Pro to the next level with more advanced hardware and making the MacBook Air their more “economic” version starting at $899.
