Apple Stock News: According to data stolen during a cyberattack on Tata Electronics (an Apple manufacturing partner), the iPhone 18 Pro will use different modems depending on the market: U.S. models will receive Qualcomm chips with mmWave support, while international models will feature Apple’s in-house C2 modem.
From the 630 GB of stolen data, whose authenticity was confirmed by AppleInsider, it appears that Apple is again relying on Qualcomm in the U.S. because the C2 lacks mmWave support — the ultra‑high‑frequency 5G band actively pushed by Verizon and AT&T. This could mean that U.S. versions will have worse battery life, since Qualcomm modems are less power‑efficient than Apple’s chips.

Apple has increased orders for foldable iPhones to 10 million units (up from a previous forecast of 7–8 million). Around 80 million smartphones are reserved for the second half of 2026, including the iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max, and the first foldable. Total production in 2026 may exceed 220 million.
Due to a memory shortage, Apple has an advantage over competitors (Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo), which have cut their plans to 100 million. Some suppliers are preparing for 85 million new iPhones in the second half of the year.
iPad Pro
Apple plans to launch new 11‑ and 13‑inch iPad Pro models in spring 2027 with no design changes, only internal upgrades. They’ll use either M6 or M7 chips (both 2nm; M7 has AI optimizations). A vapor chamber cooling system is being tested. The iPads may debut alongside the iPhone 18e, iPhone 18, and iPhone Air 2, also expected in spring 2027.
