Apple Stock News: Loyalty Rate

Apple Stock News: iPhone owner loyalty rose to 87% in the first quarter of 2026 (according to CIRP), which is three percentage points higher than last year’s figure of 84%. Only 12% of new buyers switched from Android, while the rest came from feature phones or are buying a smartphone for the first time. In recent years, the share of users switching from Android has consistently remained within the 11–15% range, whereas in Apple’s early years, the ecosystem attracted far more new users due to expansion with additional carriers. The survey shows that most owners settled on their platform long ago. Apple plans to retain its audience by launching the updated AI assistant Siri AI in iOS 27, and attract Android users with the upcoming foldable iPhone.
Antitrust Case

Apple is negotiating a settlement with the U.S. Department of Justice over an antitrust lawsuit filed in 2024. The government’s position has weakened due to changes in Apple’s policies during the litigation, although the company failed to have the case dismissed entirely. No trial date has been set yet, and there are no guarantees that an agreement will be reached.
Prices in Japan

Following the recent price increases on all Macs and iPads, Apple has raised the prices of its entire iPhone lineup in Japan. The increase ranges from 8% to 11.3%. While the company attributed the computer price hikes to a memory chip shortage, the smartphone prices have likely risen due to the depreciation of the Japanese yen against the U.S. dollar over the past year. Prices remained unchanged in other countries, including the U.S. On the same day, subscriptions for iCloud+ and Apple Music also became more expensive in Japan and several other countries.
