Apple Stock News: Apple is raising prices on its products due to a sharp increase in the cost of memory and storage, which the company can no longer fully absorb. According to CEO Tim Cook, this is an unavoidable measure to maintain profitability.

Cook compared the situation to a “once-in-a-hundred-years flood.” The company has already raised the price of the Mac mini, and analysts predict future iPhone 18 Pro models could be around $270 more expensive. However, Apple does not plan to build its own memory factories as it prefers to focus on its core competencies.
A22 Pro
Apple will transition from 2nm to 1.4nm chips in the iPhone. TSMC will produce the majority of A22 Pro chips, but some orders may go to Intel шт 2028. The 2nm process will debut in the iPhone 18 Pro and the foldable iPhone in September 2026, remain in use throughout 2027, and then give way to 1.4nm in 2028. The TSMC A14 node will deliver 15% better performance or up to 30% power savings compared to its 2nm node.
Due to high costs, limited manufacturing capacity, and enormous demand from NVIDIA (which has already caused a shortage of chips for the iPhone 17), Apple is diversifying its supply chain through Intel. Intel plans to bring its own 1.4nm node (14A) to production by 2028 and, according to rumors, will manufacture non‑Pro iPhone chips based on Apple’s designs.
Coming in Spring 2027
In spring 2027, Apple will release a new iPhone Air with two cameras (adding an Ultra Wide lens) — it’s already in advanced testing. The device will retain the current model’s design, so a larger battery is unlikely, but the A20 chip built on a 2nm process will improve energy efficiency. The second camera is being added due to the main user complaint: the current Air with a single camera falls short even compared to the iPhone 17. The new model will launch alongside the iPhone 18 lineup, while the Pro versions and the foldable iPhone will arrive in September 2027.
