Apple Stock News: Intel will manufacture processors for Apple devices based on Apple’s own designs, similar to what TSMC does now. Previously, Apple used Intel-designed chips for its Macs, but later switched to its own Arm-based processors, which are produced by TSMC. Now, Apple aims to diversify its supply chain due to TSMC’s limited capacity and the high demand for AI server chips. In turn, Intel is looking for new clients for its advanced process nodes (14A and 18A) to strengthen its market position.

Samsung is developing a holographic smartphone display, codenamed MH1 or H1, which could be used in a rumored «Spatial iPhone» from Apple. The display combines eye-tracking and diffractive beam-steering with a nano-structured holographic layer to create glasses-free 3D effects, maintaining full 4K resolution for standard tasks. The technology is based on research by Samsung’s Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT) and is still in early R&D, with a possible launch around 2030.

Delaying the iPhone 18

Apple has deliberately postponed the release of the standard iPhone 18 in order to extend the lifecycle of the iPhone 17, reduce production costs, and strengthen its position against Android smartphones. This decision is linked to the global component shortage and the need to ensure sufficient supply of the iPhone 17 for China’s largest shopping event, Double 11.

The delay will allow the iPhone 17 to solidify its position in the mid-range market segment, while the launch of a downgraded iPhone 18 will be more easily accepted by the market 18 months after its predecessor. According to the source, the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e will share common components, and their testing is currently taking place simultaneously. The new models are expected to be released in spring 2027, while the Pro versions may arrive earlier, in fall 2026.
