Apple Stock News: Hand Gesture Controls

Apple is developing AI-powered smart glasses to compete with Meta Ray-Bans. The device will feature two cameras: one for photos and videos, and another for gesture recognition and interaction with Siri. The first version will not include a display, LiDAR, or 3D cameras due to power and size constraints. The glasses will be lightweight, possibly made of acetate, and will offer advanced Siri features: taking photos, making calls, and answering questions about the surroundings. An announcement is expected this year, with a launch planned for 2027.
iPad Ultra

Apple has reportedly abandoned plans to release a foldable «iPad Ultra» due to weak sales of the iPad Pro. According to insiders, the company sees no prospects for an «iPad Ultra» amid low demand for current models. iPad sales have been declining for the third consecutive year, and the product line’s share of Apple’s revenue dropped to 6.7% in 2025.At the same time, Apple continues to work on a 20-inch foldable iPad, but the project faces challenges: the device is too heavy (3.5 kg), expensive (up to $3,900), and its launch has been postponed to 2029. It remains unclear whether the product will be an iPad or a MacBook, as it blurs the lines between the two lines.Meanwhile, Apple plans to expand its «Ultra» branding, with expected releases of iPhone Ultra, MacBook Ultra, and AirPods Ultra, but iPad Ultra is no longer on the list.
iPhone 18

The standard iPhone 18 model may get 12GB of RAM for the first time, matching last year’s Pro versions. This is due to the introduction of advanced Apple Intelligence features in iOS 27, which require more memory for AI tasks. Additionally, the iPhone 18 will be powered by a new 2nm chip from TSMC, delivering a 15% performance boost over the previous generation. The base model is expected to launch separately — in early 2027 — while the Pro versions and the foldable iPhone will arrive in the fall.
