Apple Stock News: Japanese company Sharp announced that the deal to sell one of its LCD display plants to its major shareholder Foxconn has fallen through. Consequently, the factory will cease operations in August, which could temporarily affect supplies of LCD panels for certain MacBook and iPad models produced by Apple. According to TrendForce, Apple accounts for just 16-17% of the factory’s total output, giving it approximately half a year to adjust. The shutdown was driven by intensified competition and declining LCD prices. Initially, Foxconn intended to maintain LCD production and introduce new assembly lines for AI servers, but ultimately withdrew due to weak market conditions.Meanwhile, Apple is actively transitioning towards OLED screens across its product line. The latest iPhone and iPad Pro models already feature OLED displays, and over the next couple of years, OLED panels are expected to replace traditional ones in the iPad mini, iPad Air, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and iMac.

Following the acquisition, the company’s website was shut down and its GitHub repository was archived, typical actions after Apple buys another business. Kuzu provided a browser-based database displaying data points as interconnected nodes. Due to the significance of the transaction, Apple had to notify the European Union, although no further details have been disclosed. It’s currently unknown how Apple intends to utilize Kuzu’s technologies.
