Apple Stock News: Apple is working on an advanced version of Siri based on Google’s Gemini artificial intelligence. The company will pay Google about $1 billion annually to utilize a model with 1.2 trillion parameters. In comparison, the current cloud-based version of Apple Intelligence has just 150 billion parameters.

The new AI model will support summary creation and multistep task planning, although certain Siri features will still rely on Apple’s proprietary models. The model will operate on Apple’s Private Cloud Compute servers, ensuring user data privacy. After evaluating alternatives from OpenAI and Anthropic, Apple chose Gemini due to competitors’ high pricing.

Although temporarily relying on Google AI, Apple continues developing its own models and intends to switch to an in-house solution once they’re sufficiently mature. The enhanced Siri is scheduled for introduction in the iOS 26.4 update coming in Spring 2026, enabling responses to more complex queries and handling intricate tasks within applications.

According to Bloomberg, Apple will update the MacBook Air with an OLED display in 2028. This will be part of a broader shift towards OLED technology for all major iPad and MacBook models, including the iPad mini, MacBook Pro, iPad Air, and MacBook Air. The update will bring numerous benefits such as brighter screens, deep black colors, high contrast, energy efficiency, and extended battery life. Prior to this, the MacBook Pro is expected to receive an OLED update, possibly by late 2026, along with touchscreen capabilities. Next year, Apple plans to release a version of the MacBook Air equipped with M5 chips but retaining an LCD display. Assuming Apple maintains its annual upgrade cycle, the first OLED-equipped MacBook Air would feature M7 chips.

Mac Studio in 2026

Apple plans to introduce the M5 Ultra chip in 2026, intended for the Mac Studio and potentially a Mac Pro update. Historically, Ultra versions follow Pro and Max variants. Earlier this year, Apple released an updated Mac Studio with M4 Max and M3 Ultra chips, confirming the absence of an M4 Ultra. Ultra chips are created by fusing two Max chips using UltraFusion technology. The company clarified that they do not intend to produce high-performance Ultra chips for each M-series generation. There are currently no rumors about new features for the Mac Studio, suggesting that the M5 Ultra update may focus on internal improvements. Additionally, Apple is reportedly working on a pair of new displays, with at least one set to launch alongside the Mac Studio in 2026.
