Apple Stock News: Premium iPad Pro Display

Apple Stock News: Apple may introduce tandem OLED displays in iPhones starting from 2028, following LG Display’s proposal. LG Display holds leadership in relevant patents and advocates for the technology’s benefits like increased brightness, durability, and energy efficiency. The company faces potential production challenges but is addressing them through investment. Reports suggest Apple considers a simplified tandem structure with doubled layers only for blue pixels. Multiple suppliers including Samsung and BOE would likely participate to ensure sufficient supply and competitive pricing.
Fourth Store in India

Apple is opening its fourth retail store in India, named Apple Koregaon Park, on September 4 at 1 PM local time in Pune, Maharashtra. This follows the launch of two other stores in Mumbai and New Delhi, along with an upcoming store in Bengaluru scheduled to open two days prior. The store announcement welcomes customers with “Namaskar, Pune.” Apple Koregaon Park features the same peacock feather-themed logo as the Hebbal store in Bengaluru. Apple began operating physical stores in India in 2023, three years after introducing its online store.
Mistral AI and Perplexity

Apple executives, led by Services Chief Eddy Cue, have considered acquiring AI companies Mistral AI and Perplexity, according to The Information. While Cue supports buying external firms, Software Chief Craig Federighi prefers developing AI technologies internally. Mistral AI creates compact, efficient language models, offering alternatives to OpenAI and Anthropic. Perplexity focuses on transparent AI-powered search with citations. Acquisitions could cost billions, exceeding Apple’s typical spending limit. A potential end to the $20 billion agreement making Google the default search engine might prompt Apple to purchase an AI-driven search solution. Currently, Apple intends to stick with small-scale acquisitions in AI.
