Production to Begin
Foxconn is set to commence manufacturing Apple’s foldable iPhone in the fall of 2025, with the device scheduled for release in the autumn of 2026 alongside the iPhone 18 series. The phone will feature a screen measuring approximately 5.5 inches when folded and 7.8 inches when fully open, folding in half like a book. Its thickness will range from roughly 4.5 mm when unfolded to 9–9.5 mm when closed. The device is anticipated to include hidden cameras beneath the display and employ Touch ID instead of Face ID for authentication purposes. The estimated price of the foldable iPhone ranges between $2,000 and $2,500. Samsung Display will manufacture around 7–8 million screens for this model in 2026, with a total order amounting to 15–20 million units. However, Apple’s plans remain subject to changes prior to mass production.
iCloud Backups
A class-action lawsuit against Apple proceeds in California federal court, accusing the company of illegally monopolizing iPhone users’ ability to perform comprehensive device backups through iCloud.
