Apple Stock News: TSMC announced the A14 processor node with 1.4 nm technology, whose production will start in 2028. The new node will provide a 15% increase in performance, a 30% reduction in energy consumption, and a 20% improvement in logic density. Devices with chips based on this new technology are most likely to appear first at Apple. In 2026, we expect the release of devices using TSMC’s 2-nm process, including the iPhone 18 series with the A20 chip. Current iPhone 17 models and upcoming M5 will use 3-nm technology.

According to CIRP data, the new iPhone 16e performed well, capturing 7% of the US market in its first partial quarter. The entire iPhone 16 range took 74% of sales versus 68% for the iPhone 15 line-up a year ago. The regular iPhone 16 increased to 20% of sales, while the share of expensive Pro models decreased from 45% to 38%. Legacy models declined to 26% of the market thanks to Apple’s updated product lineup.

Shipments Surge

Counterpoint Research estimates indicate that MacBook shipments from Apple significantly increased in Q1 2025, rising by 17%, exceeding the overall PC market growth of 6.7%. Much of this growth was attributed to accelerated deliveries ahead of anticipated new U.S. tariffs. Sales to end users remained largely unchanged, as many products stayed in stock. The introduction of the M4 MacBook Air also contributed to Apple’s shipment growth, although consumer interest in artificial intelligence remains unclear. Apple’s market share rose from 9% to 10%, trailing behind Lenovo.
