Apple Stock News: Apple has discontinued the use of LCD screens in the iPhone lineup following the release of the iPhone 16e, which features an OLED screen similar to the iPhone 14. All current iPhone models are now equipped with OLED screens, offering enhanced contrast, brightness, and HDR support. Previous iPhone SE models utilized LCD technology, but with the introduction of the iPhone 16e, this practice has ended.
M5 for MacBook Pro

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple will introduce its next-generation M5 chip in the MacBook Pro in the fall, followed by the iPad Pro in early 2026. This differs from the previous order seen with the M4 chips, where the iPad Pro came first. Before the M5-powered MacBook Pros, Apple may update the Mac Studio and Mac Pro with M4 chips around WWDC 2025.The M5 series is expected to utilize TSMC’s 3-nanometer process and include advancements such as System on Integrated Chip (SoIC) technology, improving performance and efficiency. Apple is rumored to expand its collaboration with TSMC on hybrid SoIC packaging, combining it with thermoplastic carbon fiber composites. The M5 chip may also play a role in enhancing AI capabilities across Apple’s ecosystem.
M4 MacBook Air

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that Apple will start selling new M4 MacBook Air models by March at the latest, aligning with last year’s M3 MacBook Air launch schedule. Gurman speculates about the impending arrival of 13-inch and 15-inch models without providing specific details. The upcoming M4 MacBook Airs were accidentally confirmed by Apple in December via macOS Sequoia 15.2 files referencing unreleased “Mac16,12” and “Mac16,13” machines.
