Apple Stock News: Main Processor

Apple Stock News: Apple plans to integrate the modem directly into the main processor of its devices, making them more energy-efficient and cost-effective, reports Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. This integration is expected no earlier than 2028. Previously, Apple had considered releasing a MacBook with cellular connectivity but abandoned the idea due to size constraints. Now, with the integration of SoC, this issue can potentially be resolved. The company’s first proprietary modem, C1, made its debut in the iPhone 16e, boasting high energy efficiency and long battery life. Apple is already testing subsequent generations of modems—C2 and C3, with the latter slated for release in 2027. The company aims to surpass Qualcomm’s modem capabilities as it gradually moves away from using Qualcomm components following a tumultuous relationship between the two firms.
Chip Factory

Apple is planning a chip factory in Houston, Texas, set to open in 2026, which will produce AI servers powered by advanced M5 chips, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. These servers will utilize TSMC’s high-end M5 chips, with mass production beginning in late 2025. Production will initially occur at existing Foxconn facilities before moving to the new site upon completion. The project aligns with Apple’s strategy to expand its private cloud computing infrastructure as it ramps up production of M5 Pro, M5 Max, and M5 Ultra chips over the coming years.
End Ban

Apple and Indonesia have reached an agreement to lift the five-month ban on iPhone 16 sales. As part of the deal, Apple will invest $1 billion in the country, including establishing factories for accessory production and opening academies to train local talent. However, there are no current plans to manufacture iPhones in Indonesia.
