Apple Stock News: M5 Silicon Chip

Apple Stock News: Apple has started mass production of the M5 chip with the processor expected to appear in devices as early as this year. The chip packaging process began last month by companies ASE, Amkor, and JCET, following TSMC’s completion of the silicon wafer manufacturing stage. The initial batch is intended for the base M5 model, not the advanced M5 Pro, M5 Max, and M5 Ultra versions. The M5 chips will utilize TSMC’s advanced 3-nanometer technology and ARM architecture. It is expected that the first device to feature the new chip will be the iPad Pro, which will start mass production in the second half of next year. Subsequently, the M5 will be used in the MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and an updated version of the Apple Vision Pro headset.
VR Gaming Controller

Apple and Sony continue to work on bringing support for PlayStation VR2 controllers to the Vision Pro headset. According to Gurman, this feature is still under development and may be introduced later this year via a visionOS software update. The controllers can be used not only for gaming but also for more precise control of the operating system. Although this is unlikely to change the slow sales of Vision Pro, Gurman believes it will be a nice move from Apple, showing that the company still cares about gamers.
Invites

Apple introduced the “Invites” app for planning events such as birthdays, graduations, and other occasions. It enables users to create invitations with customizable images and fonts, and automatically includes information from the “Maps” and “Weather” apps. Guests can confirm their attendance, while organizers can track responses. During the event, it’s possible to create a collaborative playlist and a shared photo and video album. The app is exclusively available to iCloud+ subscribers and works on iPhones running iOS 18 or higher.
