Apple Stock News: Apple is preparing to begin mass production of its first A-series chips made in the USA at TSMC’s Arizona plant. The test batch has already been completed, and the company is in the final stage of checking the quality and performance. The first commercially viable chips may be ready for mass production as early as this quarter after all checks are completed. The factory will manufacture chips for older iPhone models, and it is also expected to release the A16 Bionic for the iPhone 15 and the S9 for the Apple Watch Ultra 2. This will be the first instance of Apple chips being produced in the United States.

Apple promised to release cars with the next generation of CarPlay in 2024, but it did not happen. The company’s website still lists this date even though it’s already 2025. However, there are indications that the project is still alive: new mentions of CarPlay have been found in the iOS 18.3 beta 2 code, and recently discovered images show customizable widgets for the system. Nevertheless, Apple continues to remain silent regarding future plans.

Global Smartphone Share Slips

Apple’s global smartphone market share fell to 18% in 2024, down from 19%, while Chinese manufacturers grew. iPhone sales dropped 2% amidst a 4% industry growth, with Chinese brands like Xiaomi showing 12% growth. The iPhone 16 faced challenges due to limited Apple Intelligence features, especially in China. Despite this, Apple saw strong growth in emerging markets such as Latin America. Premium models like Pro and Pro Max gained popularity, with over 50% market share expected in China by Q4 2024.

Samsung led the market, driven by AI-equipped S24 and A-series devices. Chinese brands Huawei, Honor, and Motorola were the fastest-growing among the top 10. Apple has been rolling out Apple Intelligence through updates, but adoption seems slow. Many users find little value in current Apple Intelligence features, although improvements are anticipated.
