Apple Stock News: Discontinuing iPhone
Apple Stock News: The iPhone SE (3rd generation), iPhone 14, and iPhone 14 Plus can no longer be purchased from Apple’s Swiss online store due to new EU requirements mandating USB-C ports on smartphones. Although Switzerland is not an EU member, it adheres to its trade laws. Sales of these models are expected to cease in the EU by December 28th, though they ended earlier in Switzerland. In Apple’s Swiss retail stores, the devices will remain available until this date. A new iPhone SE model with USB-C is anticipated in March of next year.
Speed Up AI
Apple collaborated with NVIDIA to enhance large language models’ performance using a new text generation method called Recurrent Drafter (ReDrafter). This approach combines beam search and dynamic tree attention techniques, resulting in significant speed improvements for AI applications. Integrated into NVIDIA’s TensorRT-LLM framework, ReDrafter achieved a 2.7x increase in tokens generated per second, reducing latency, GPU usage, and power consumption.
Affordable Vision Pro
According to TrendForce, Apple intends to release the next generation of its Vision Pro headset and a more affordable model, tentatively named “Apple Vision,” by 2026. To reduce the cost of the Vision Pro, the company may source components from various suppliers, including Sony. The current price of the Vision Pro is $3,499, which limits demand for the device. Apple CEO Tim Cook confirmed that the current version targets early adopters rather than the mass market. Analysts predict that the new version will feature enhanced specifications such as a display with a resolution exceeding 3,000 pixels per inch. As for the more affordable version, it will prioritize cost reduction and accessibility for a broader audience by incorporating less advanced displays.
