Canalys, a leading global technology market analyst firm, published a report on November 4th stating that Apple has shipped nearly 7 million smart watches. Although Apple has not reported official numbers, the Canalys report indicates that Apple is dominating the smart watch market.
As the only smart watch to ship more than 300,000 Units, Canalys claims that Apple’s figures are greater than all other firms combined. The Pebble Time Steel was also released this quarter, which shipped 200,000 units.
Canalys believes that Apple’s real test will come during the Q4 holiday quarter. Principal Analyst Chris Jones explained, “shipments are steadily increasing as it has greatly expanded the Watch’s channel footprint internationally.”
